Guiding People To Jesus Nation By Nation...
Teams hiit hotspots all over the city where crowds of people converge, including parks, plazas, bus stations, theaters, town squares, and markets. Passersby are drawn to the program as they are walking by. Each program has the potential to last between 20 minutes to an hour or more, depending on the ministry taking place. We usually play music, to attract attention, perform dramas, share testimonies, and offer an invitation for salvation. We pray for people to get saved, healed, and filled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. For responders to the altar call, we take follow-up information and give materials to get them started on their walk with Christ. The message is one of hope and a personal relationship with Jesus that changes how they live their lives from that point on. All of these people will receive follow-up by our ministry or one of the local churches we work with.
Other forms of street ministry take the form of services or crusades at a local community soccer fields, where people gather. These locations around Kingston are where foot traffic is particularly heavy or where converegence is common. Before the service, a small group will perform dramas and do street ministry (including inviting people to the service) while another group sets up at a central location. The service normally consists of praise and worship, a short message, sharing personal testimonies, and ministry including, healing, salvation, and general prayer. In the past, we have found that most of the ministry to individuals happens during worship, as people feel the presence of God and team members have the opportunity to pray with people as they find a need.
