Guiding People To Jesus Nation By Nation...
The Jesus Way Jamaica launched in February 2008. July 4, 2008, the whole Stewart family left the United States and moved to Jamaica full-time, doing their part to see God's Kingdom come on this earth.
In October 2008, The Jesus Way Jamaica began a Bible school to train believers, from any church, who want a deeper understanding of the Word of God and a solid foundation for doing what God has called them to do. Many churches want to send their people to VBIJ, to train them to be capable ministers of the gospel.
Ministry during the first 18 monthes was spent investing a lot of time in the public schools--tutoring children in reading, writing, and arithmetic, as well as teaching the children godly morals, values, and principles. We have been given full authority to teach the children according to Biblical principles.
One of the areas God has directed us to be involved in is bringing unity to the Body of Christ. Huge progress has been seen in this area! We were an intrigal part of a tent crusade where seven churches, from four denominations, came together to reach one of the hardest, roughest areas of Spanish Town. Denominational lines are being crossed over and thrown away--all to reach people for the Kingdom of God! Another major spiritual breakthrough was being part of the first-ever, national, all-church prayer meeting where every denomination in Jamaica came together, crying out to God in repentance and praying for restoration and reconcilliation in Jamaica. Government and church leaders alike participated in unity, with one comon purpose.
In May of 2009, we were given the opportunity to purchase Heaven's Embassy, in Red Hills, Jamaica. After praying about it and seeking God for confirmation, He opened the door--and we walked through! The Embassy is used to lodge ambassadors (ministry and project teams) whom God sends to minister with us in Jamaica. Local churches also use the facilities for retreats and outreach/ministry training. It is a place where God's presence is.
Other major focuses of The Jesus Way Jamaica include training church leaders who feel called to full-time ministry; restarting and revitalizing youth groups; and going out to the children who have been abandon and abused, sharing Bible-based programs to encourage and teach them, followed by food distributions.
